We all love spending the long, sunny days of summer outdoors with our furry companions, but being overeager in hot weather can spell danger, ASPCA experts warn.

Neighborhood Friend of the Week: Chloe

Friend of the Week is a regular feature to introduce furry friends in the community who need loving and caring homes.  Please help these deserving animals find their forever guardians or consider adopting an animal yourself.  NFW East: Available for Adoption

NFW Challenge 2013:   421 / 460 Adoptions

“You gotta know it – it’s electric!  Boogie woogie, woogie!  Now you can’t hold it – it’s electric!  Boogie woogie, woogie!  But you know it’s there, yeah here, there, everywhere!"  Chloe sure has got a love that is electric.  You will feel it throughout your heart and home the moment you make her a part of your family.  And, she is ready to dance through life with you too.  Chloe loves attention so much; she will dance on her hind legs to get it.

Plain and simple, Chloe is known by all who meet her as a great dog who just needs a good home.  She can be a little shy at first, especially at the shelter, until she gets to know you.  But once she does, you will never meet a kinder, friendlier dog anywhere.  She is so sweet and does love everyone she meets.  Just like every dance party deserves a good Electric Slide, every family deserves a dog like Chloe.  Her companionship is unmatched, and you can bring her home today.

To adopt Chloe, contact the Euclid Animal Shelter at 216-289-2057, email euclidpetpals@yahoo.com, or visit http://www.euclidpetpals.net/.

You have heard the rumors…You have told stories of the legend…You have even seen the shaky footage.  But today, we are exposing the truth from the myth.  We have found Bigfoot!  And, he is beyond everything we anticipated.  As you would expect, Bigfoot will be a little shy when you first meet him.  He may not even stand in the front of the cage to greet you.  But trust us, spend some time with Bigfoot, and your mind will be blown.

So now it is time for the truth to come out.  Bigfoot is actually adorable.  This adoptable feline Friend is looking for a home to call his own.  Bigfoot is shy, but an all around amazing kitty.  He is all about people.  He will sit in your lap (by choice) and even rolls over on his back for belly rubs.  Bigfoot loves people and desperately seeks to interact with them.  He is a little too shy for children, but will make a perfect addition to your home and heart.  Bring home the myth, the legend, Bigfoot today!

In the English form of the Old French name Jehanne, Jane means gracious.  That could not be a more suitable name for this furry Friend.  Her graciousness is derived from her gratefulness.  Jane was picked up as a stray in Richland County in mid-April.  She was incredibly thankful to be rescued and brought to Secondhand Mutts.  Now, she is even more grateful that you are reading this article.  Joining your family would be a dream come true, and Jane will be ever so gracious with her love.

Jane is a laid back, quiet, soft-hearted sweetheart of a dog.  Everyone who knows Jane cannot say enough good things about her.  Unlike a typical hound dog, she is really quiet.  Jane just loves laying around in the sun and giving kisses.  She is great with children and would be an excellent family companion.  She even has the potential of being a great therapy dog if trained for the task.  So say “yes” to a dog that has it all, and let Jane make your every day joyous.

To adopt Jane today, contact Secondhand Mutts at 216-664-9660, email rescue@secondhandmutts.org, or visit www.secondhandmutts.org.

Dixie is a beautiful, darling Southern Belle from Louisiana.  Even though she is named for her birthplace in Dixie, this little girl is loving life in Ohio.  She was actually rescued after Hurricane Isaac hit her area.  In need of medical care, she was brought back to Ohio.  Dixie is an incredibly sweet little girl who loves to be cuddled and pampered.  She just needs a family to call her own.

Dixie takes daily medication to maintain her successful recovery, and her care is easy.  She also is no longer able to use her back legs to walk.  Therefore, she was fitted with a custom wheel cart.  You can see the beautifully inspiring transformation in the video above.  Dixie does not even know she has any handicaps at all.  She is in the action, looking for the next pet, cuddle, or play.  She absolutely loves life and would like nothing more than to share her love with you.

To adopt Dixie today, contact Dogs Unlimited Rescue in Pepper Pike at gina@dogsunlimitedrescue.org or visit www.dogsunlimitedrescue.org.
