CLEVELAND – Once again, Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) will offer a free personal income tax filing service for those who meet eligibility requirements (described below) with an earned 2012 income of less than $60,000. The services will be offered at four campuses this year. 

Walk-in assistance on a first-come, first-served basis is available as follows:

 Metropolitan Campus, 2900 Community College Ave., Cleveland, Saturdays, Feb. 2-March 30 (except for March 16), from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Technology Learning Center Room 155

Western Campus, 11000 Pleasant Valley Road., Parma, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, beginning Feb. 1 and 2 through April 5 and 6 in Room WSSG280. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.

Corporate College West, 25425 Center Ridge Road., Westlake, 4:30-7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Feb. 7-April 4, except for March 14, in Room 214 

A prior scheduled appointment is available as follows: 

Eastern Campus, 4250 Richmond Road, Highland Hills, from Feb. 4-April 4, by appointment only. For the Eastern Campus, contact Jin Chen at 216-987-2402.

Returns will be prepared and filed by IRS-certified tax preparers and completed while the taxpayer waits. All returns will be screened for eligibility for the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit. To qualify, taxpayers must have a 2012 earned income of less than $60,000 and must be filing a simple return.

Four charged with cheating at Horseshoe Casino

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO)- Indictments have just been filed against four more people for cheating at the new downtown casino.

In one case, records show a man was caught cheating several times. In another case, a man is accused of capping bets to increase his winnings seven times.

A charge of gambling has been filed against Danielle Scolaro, Brian Cantrell, Deandre Pruitt and Marques Easter.

When the casino first opened, investigators charged a number of people with gambling, but the pace has slowed considerably.
