Pedestrian killed in Cleveland hit and run | News
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO)- An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was fatally struck in a hit and run on Cleveland's west side.
It happened just before 1 a.m. on West 73rd and Denison.
The preliminary investigation reveals the 55-year-old pedestrian was crossing the street when he was struck by a full-sized black vehicle that was traveling westbound on Denison. The black vehicle did not stop after hitting the pedestrian, and continued westbound on Denison.
After being struck, the pedestrian was propelled into the eastbound lane and was struck by a Chevrolet Malibu that was operating eastbound on Denison. The driver of the Chevrolet Malibu remained on scene and was interviewed by investigators.
EMS was notified, found the pedestrian unresponsive and pronounced him dead on the scene.
The official cause of death will be determined by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office.
