CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO)- We're seeing a sort of renaissance across the area -- from the new casino to more local jobs.
With a 24 hour casino now open, and a Medical Mart on the way - Cleveland real estate is getting a shot in the arm.
Realtor Chris Schlenkerman says in some areas of the city, the "casino effect" is already in play.
"For a lot of the buyers, it's in the conversation. They talk about the casino and other building in Cleveland," said Chris Schlenkerman.
Right now the best selling markets are Tremont and Ohio City.
Chris Schlenkerman said an Ohio City couple, who couldn't sell their house two years ago, recently tried again and was successful.
"We matched up a buyer who was interested and they sold their house before it hit the market. And that's becoming more common that we're seeing now, said Chris Schlenkerman.
One agent says the Cleveland real estate market is a 7 on a 10 scale.
Homes are selling, but the prices remain flat. In some neighborhoods, prices continue to decline.
Chris Schlenkerman said the "one" thing that could light a fire under the entire market is downtown Cleveland.
