CLEVELAND, OH - The annual Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival (GCUFF) announced today that tickets are on sale for the festival, which takes place Thursday, April 18 through Sunday, April 21 at the Shaker Square Cinema in Shaker Heights, OH.

VIP all-access passes are available now through April 13 at special early bird rates.  VIP all-access passes are currently $100 and will increase to $125 after March 24 and $150 after April 13. General admission tickets range from $10 to $50. College students qualify for a 20 percent discount on the $50 Film Lovers Pass. Visit www.gcuff.org for additional pricing information and to purchase tickets.

The second annual GCUFF film festival will feature envelope-pushing local and national independent films – the sort of work rarely screened at international film festivals. The event also will include panel discussions and opportunities to network with powerbrokers, film industry veterans and emerging film industry talent.

Nationally recognized actor Elimu Nelson serves as the GCUFF ambassador. He has appeared in a range of national television shows including CBS’ Criminal Minds and BET’s The Game. Nelson recently starred in the feature film, Things Never Said, opposite Shanola Hampton and Omari Hardwick. He also wrote, produced and co-starred in a short film titled, Doorways, which was showcased at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

Festival highlights include a meet and greet with top filmmakers such as director Charles Murray on Saturday, April 20. An awards ceremony will also be held on April 20. April 19 and 20 will feature a cinematic exhibit of Mouse Ward: The Amitriptyline Experiment. This fusion of cinema and art features the story of Mouse Kaminski, a teenager en route to a 72-hour psychiatric hold.

The 2013 GCUFF is sponsored by McTech Group and NuSurge Electrical Inc. Partners include the Society of Urban Professionals, the Buckeye Area Development and A Cultural Change.

The GCUFF has set up a crowdfunding campaign at Indiegogo to solicit additional funding for the festival. Visit www.gcuff.org for more information about making donations.
